Pia Sirénin installaatio Oasis
Overview over installation Oasis in Prague

A massive nature installation by artist Pia Sirén (b. 1982) transforms the museum's Main Hall into something new. Sirén has used construction and renovation materials to create an immersive work of art that is integrated with the architecture of the exhibition space. This installation is a draft of nature and a manifestation of dreams and a yearning for nature. It addresses topical themes without directly identifying environmental issues.

Sirén lives and works in Loviisa, on the south coast of Finland. She received a master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki in 2012. Her works have been presented in galleries and as part of group exhibitions both in Finland and abroad. The Sketch installation is Sirén's first solo exhibition at a Finnish art museum.Pia Sirénin installaatio Oasis

Anni KInnunen: The Big Sleep
Anni Kinnunen: The Big Sleep, 2018

An exhibition at Kaapo Gallery presents photographic and video art by artist Anni Kinnunen (b. 1978). While the artist poses as the model for the pictures herself, these are not conventional self-portraits. Kinnunen's works depict moments that carry a sense of unreality, wavering between the familiar and the unfamiliar. The photographs, which possess a dream-like quality, show a figure that is reminiscent of imagery from the fantasy genre.

While photography is Kinnunen's primary art form, she creates installations and video art too. Works by this artist from central Finland, who lives and works in Oulu, have been showcased in several galleries and group exhibitions, in Finland and internationally.
