Workshops Briefly In English

Youth workshops offer a variety of training and job opportunities for young people at age 17 - 28 in the city of Hyvinkää.

The aim of the workshops is to help young people to realise their individual plans, to promote employment among the young and to make it easier to apply for studies. The workshops are intended for unemployed young people with no vocational training, or for those with vocational training but no work experience.

The duration of the workshop period is six months, but the average duration based on a personalised plan and individual needs is three months. The workshop period includes work at the workshop, work orientation and training. During this period, participants are given individual counselling on career choices and other matters.

“Hope” Youth Workshops of Hyvinkää consist of four workshops with different themes. Our workshops are situated in different locations around the city of Hyvinkää.

WORKSHOP UNITS

HAMMER

The Workshop of Renovation and Repairing

At HAMMER you can develop your renovation and repair skills. Tasks can vary from building a small cottage to fixing a scooter. The HAMMER workshop is located in the centre of Hyvinkää.

MOVE

The Workshop of Environment, Experiments and Handicraft

At the MOVE workshop the main focus is on tasks relating to the environment, experiments and handicraft. At MOVE you can design new products using different materials, such as wood, fabrics and natural materials.  Tasks might also involve organising different events. The MOVE! Workshop is located in the area of Uusimaa College for Rural Development. The location of this workshop gives rise to many possibilities relating to the environmental theme. Hiking, paddling and other outdoor activities are possible depending on the interests of the young people participating.

STARTTI

The Workshop of Different Activities

At STARTTI the focus is on discovering future plans and taking the first steps towards them. We help young people explore different possibilities regarding education, professions and work life. We also give information on how to take care of matters with the authorities and also how to take care of individual economics. STARTTI is located near the centre of Hyvinkää.

CAFÉ SVEITSI

At CAFÉ SVEITSI young people can get real work experience in a genuine café environment. CAFÉ SVEITSI employees will train and guide the young people in all the skills needed when working in a café.
